Norman United Church of Christ NORMAN UCC IS CHANGING LOCATIONS! Beginning May 31st, we will be moving to our new space at 1017 Elm, which is 2 blocks south of Elm & Lindsey on campus! Our new Sunday schedule will look like this: Adult & Children's classes: 9:30-10:30am Fellowship: 10:30-11am Worship: 11am Have you been damaged, rejected or disgusted by organized religion? Are you just barely willing to even call yourself a "Christian" after seeing what that has come to mean? Are you searching for a Christianity that is non-dogmatic and that is open and inclusive? Did you know that there is a Christianity that is more about the search, the questions, and the spirit rather than fear of eternal damnation, fear of change, fear of what is different. These are people that have actively begun thinking for themselves...but many have stopped searching, or in their search have simply not found church communities that are different enough. If you are one of those people - done with the dogma, but still compelled by this 1st century sage named Jesus of Nazareth, then come and visit us. We are Norman United Church of Christ - a progressive, open and affirming denomination that stems from the congregational tradition. At Norman UCC we believe that God is still speaking, that the Bible ought to be taken seriously, not literally, and that what Jesus taught us about God is far more important than what the church has taught us about Jesus. If you're interested in Christianity as a way of life, not just a set of beliefs demanding total conformity, then come and visit us. Children's sunday school meets at the same time as the adults - 9:30-10:30. Childcare is provided during worship for kids under 6.
We meet at the United Ministry Center at 1017 Elm on campus! Click for map

Grace to you and peace-
Rev. Chris Moore Pastor
Rising food prices (as much as 80% in some areas!) are asking for our immediate attention as the issue of global hunger is exacerbated by fuel prices, broken supply chains and the overall crunch on food production. In an effort to keep you all informed, here are some websites you can go to which give you some additional information about the crisis and ways you can help, which includes but is not limited to donations. And, of course, we can pray over this crisis. We can pray for a change of hearts, minds, focus and priorities in our world. We can pray that in the least of these we see Christ. We can pray that God shift our values and help us to create the Reign of God here among us.
Earth Hour was a great success! Click for details.

Here's a big idea: Pangea Day plans to use the power of film to bring the world a little closer together. We're divided by borders, race, religion, conflict... but most of all by misunderstanding and mistrust. Pangea Day seeks to overcome that -- to help people see themselves in others -- through the power of film.
Pangea Day
On May 10, 2008 -- Pangea Day -- sites in Cairo, Dharamsala, Jerusalem, Kigali, London, New York City, Ramallah and Rio de Janeiro will be linked to produce a 4-hour program of powerful films, visionary speakers, and uplifting music. The program will be broadcast live to the world through the Internet, television, digital cinemas, and mobile phones.
Love, care, honesty and grace are never insignificant...
